ASA Cheerleading

The ASA Cheerleading Team was started in 2008 to lead the ASA fans in cheering on their teams. The team was created to give a cheer and dance option for ASA students whose interests lie in those specific areas.

The cheerleading team will be a staple at the Men’s and Women’s home basketball games, as well as home Football games. Eventually, the program intends to compete in regional and national tournaments. ASA cheerleading will practice twice a week close to the Brooklyn campus.
During the summer of 2009, Karroll King, was named the Head Coach of ASA Cheerleading. The Queens native first started dancing at Dance Dimensions, and cheering at Stella Maris H.S. at 14 years of age. Coach King would take that same passion for the two arts to Brooklyn College in 2001. While at Brooklyn, Ms. King continued her dancing and began modeling. She was also a member and two-year captain for the BC Elite, the Brooklyn College cheer squad.

Right after graduating in 2006, Coach King began dancing with Hypnotized Dance Company. Along with focusing on her own dancing career, King took on triple duty as a cheerleading gymnastics coach at Tumble Town in the Bronx, as well being a cheerleading choreographer for Cardinal Spellman High School's competition season.

Excited about the task at hand, Coach King explains, 'I am excited about working for ASA and taking everything I have learned to help guide the team to the top.
